My Reading Prediction.

I have learnt to use pictures to give detailed predictions about the story.

I like the length of my prediction because my first prediction was very short. I liked how I could also explain what I predicted.

I'm proud of how I explained what I predicted and how I described what the characters on the boat were wearing.

Basic Facts Speed Test Term1

During the week we practise our basic facts for homework.  On Friday we have a speed test that we have to try and complete 100 facts under  6.30 minutes.
This graph shows my scores so far.
I like this because I can record my work on the internet.  When I look at my graph I can see that I can see my score over the term.

Art Portraits

Joshua
WALT sketch a face by following grid guidelines to make each feature on the face in proportion.

First we drew a picture of what we thought we looked like.
I thought my before picture was a little bit out of proportion.

After a few art lessons we learned how to sketch a grid across the shape of our face to help us draw each feature in proportion.

I thought my after picture was much better than the first because most of the picture was in proportion and I got the picture more accurate.

Sensory Recount

Reflection on my Recount -
  • Bold where you think you are in your learning of the sensory recount.
  • Remember you are just assessing how well you described your surroundings, using descriptive words or poetic devices.

Extended Abstract
I can help someone else to suggest ways to improve their own sensory recount.

Relational
I can add a poetic device to make it more interesting e.g simile, metaphor or alliteration.

Multistructural
I can describe using more than 2 senses in my recount.

Unistructural
I can describe using at least 2 of my senses in my recount.

Pre-structural
I need help to find words to describe what I see, feel, touch, or hear.

I have put myself at the relational stage because I described most things and I did all the senses.

My next learning step is to make my story longer by using similes, adjectives and metaphors.
